Isfahan to host 21st Iranian Nuclear Conference

ISFAHAN, Feb. 22(MNA) – The dean of Faculty of New Sciences and Modern Technologies of University of Isfahan has said the Faculty will host the 21st Iranian Nuclear Conference.

Mohammad Reza Abdi told a press conference on Saturday that the Conference would be held in the Faculty on February 25-27 where 350 nuclear scientists would attend.

“Nuclear reactors, nuclear fuel and rods, accelerators, radiomedicine, radiation detection and dosimetry (RDD), plasma and nuclear fusion, and rays applications will be the topics where scientists and researchers will deliver speech or poster papers,” he told the press conference. “700 papers have been received by the secretariat of the conference and the assessment committee accepted 210 papers for delivery in the conference,” he added.

Abdi also said that Arak heavy water complex and Bushehr nuclear reactor energy efficiency would also provide a topic for discussion in the conference; “the specialist session of BNCT as one of the major areas of radiomedicine and other specialist workshops will be the sideline events in the conference,” he added, citing simulator reactor workshop as the most important sideline event, “where participants will have to design, load, and operate reactors.”

Abdi announced attendance by Dr. Fereidoun Abbasi the head of Iranian Nuclear Association and former head of AEOI; “AEOI deputies, head of Isfahan UCF, and officials of Nuclear Protocol of the country will also be among the constellation of the scientists,” he noted.

“Iranian Nuclear Association and University of Isfahan will jointly hold the conference; supporters of the conference are parent industrial companies of Atomic Energy Development of Iran, Research Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology, Nuclear Energy Power Plant Company, Nuclear Power Production and Development Company of Iran (NPPD), Iran’s Air Defense Headquarters, Isfahan provincial Basij office of University Professors, and Iran’s Advanced Technologies Co.,” Abdi said.
